It is becoming increasingly complicated in the sexism scandal around Activision Blizzard. With the EQUAL Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), another US authority had turned on, the company sued and already a shortly thereafter an agreement over $ 18 million, which should be made available to the persons concerned as compensation and redress.
However, the originally complaining authority Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH) does not agree with this Agreement and remain the decision now. Like Stephen Totilo, a journalist at Axios, reported on Twitter, the Dfeh believed that this hazard agreement could damage the case.
The sexism scandal at Activision Blizzard: a multi-aim
Because the DFEH believes that employees could not be prosecuted at Activision Blizzard due to the agreement, and although the EEOC could not judge the incidents at all. One sees the case as such and the legal consequences for participating employees through the agreement reached.
Dfeh s ongoing law enforcement against [Activision Blizzard] is endangered by the uninformed waiver, which depends on the proposed regulation whether the victims receive relief. The requested recognition judgment also contains commissions that prove the effective destruction and / or the piling with Toleren, which are critical in the case of the Dfeh, such as personnel files and other documents that treat sexual harassment, retaliation and discrimination , the Dfeh said about the agreement of the EEOC, as shown in the files shared by Totilo.
In plain language, this means: The DFEH believes that the 18 million dollar-heavy agreement could hinder the further course of the case or end for some employees even prematurely. Since one moves in a criminal dead end, the 18 million does not seem to meet a judgment with which the Dfeh agrees.
The agreement is not yet approved anyway. The final word of judge Dale Fisher is still missing from the Federal District Court for the central area of California. To clarify the matter, the judge has requested a hearing for the 13th of December, as WCCFECTECH reports.
