PS5 Dodge the problem that prevented him from running physical and digital games if a pile was exhausted
Good news for users of PLAYSTATION 5. SONY seems to have resolved a problem that directly affected not only PS5, but also to their previous generations machines. In fact, a little over a month ago we echoed that it had been solved in PS4, but in the new generation it still existed.
If the CMOS stack was exhausted, most games could not be executed we refer to the call CBomb, a name that refers to the conflict that the console had regarding the CMOS battery. This is directly connected to the motherboard and affects the internal clock, and previous checks confirmed that, if the battery was exhausted, most console games could not be executed without an Internet connection. Now, as we have seen in a recent Hikikomori Media study, it seems to be solved with the new firmware.
The problem of this stack is that its estimated duration is about ten years, and the only way to regulate the clock if it is exhausted would be to connect to the digital stores of each of the systems. Where is the conflict then? In which these platforms are not going to be enabled for life, so if they disappeared it would be practically impossible to play normally, because the console has to make an online check when executing the titles.
The firmware with which the tests have been carried out is 21.01, withdrawing the battery and disconnecting the PS5 of the network. It has proven that titles that previously did not work well, as mortal Kombat 11, are already installed normally. Other games were also executed without problems, although there are obstacles with those linked to PlayStation Plus, as it is essential to have a connection to PSN.
While continuing to improve your hardware, at Sony PlayStation you are very happy with the commercial performance of your new generation console. They have announced a considerable increase in their income, and plan to place some 22 million ps5 for March. For this, they are reinforcing their stock in Christmas with, for example, up to three aircraft loaded for the United Kingdom.
